General Motors launch LPG version of Chevrolet Spark.


The LPG version of their popular small car Chevrolet Spark. This new variant has been priced competitively at Rs 3.52 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company is in fact planning to launch more variants targeting different consumer segments in the Indian market. General Motors India President and Managing Director Karl Slym said: “We plan to continue to introduce the variance of the Spark that targets different groups of customers. This will enable us to achieve our goal of becoming a market leader in India by giving our customers the vehicles that they want, when they want them.” The next model lined up for the launch from GM India is its sedan variant, Chevrolet Cruz which will be a cross over model. It may also launch a mini car by December 2009. GM India has already indicated that it remains unaffected by the bankruptcy filed by its parent company and the Indian arm shall continue to function as before. Overall GM India is expected to launch five new models in next two years. One of the small cars coming from GM India is being developed on the Beat platform which will be launched in Europe and Asian markets. Another small car is also planned for launch later this year. The company really has
expanded their product range for Indian.
Specification:
The Chevrolet Spark 1.0L PS/1.0L LS LPG uses Sequential Injection-type LPG kit, which Chevrolet claims employs new that hold a big advantage over the venture-type LPG kit available in the market today. The engine can also run on petrol in the absence of LPG.
